There are absolutely loads of Guitar Hero knock-offs on the web - this game, Guitar Geek, is undoubtedly one of the slickest. Featuring a good selection of songs, impressive cartoon-style graphics and a simple, intuitive interface, the game is simply great fun. As with most games in this genre, your task is to press buttons (in this case the A, S, D and F keys) in time to the visual and musical cues.

Good timing and fast reactions are essential to doing well in the game. There are four levels of difficulty in this fun music game: Easy, Normal, Hard, Geek. If you have never played a rhythm game of this style, we recommend you start out on Easy or Normal. It can take a bit of practice in order to get your timing right. Geek level is unbelievably difficult (at least for me). Only crazy-skilled people should attempt it.

The game keeps a record of how well you performed on each song, so once you have completed all the levels, you can play against yourself, attempting to beat your previous score.
