Notessimo

The maker of this great compose your own music game should be applauded for the huge amount of effort he or she has put in. The game makes it dead simple for anyone to create music.

Notessimo has an interface that is in many ways similar to that fun console game Mario Paint. You can choose what instruments you want to play simply by clicking on them - and there are literally hundreds of instruments to choose, from multiple versions of guitars, keyboards and drums to wind instruments like bassoons and brass instruments like trumpets and horns.

It is also easy to create a piece of music that combines several musical instruments. Simply click on one instrument, mark on the digital music sheet when and at what pitch you want it to play (hold down the shift key for a flat note, ctrl key for a sharp note), and then select another instrument and repeat. You can adjust the duration of each note and the overall tempo of music.

Once you have completed your composition, you can save it within the software, and even share it with others.

Be warned however. Although Notessimo makes it possible for anyone to make music, it is no substitute for musical talent. So if you are struggling to make decent-sounding music with the software, it is probably due to your lack of musical creativity rather than any failing with the software!
